Smart Hub 2.0 unable to connect

My mother has been sent a smart hub 2.0

theres nothing wrong with the last version so it’s just sat in the box

shes now been told to change the router by 30 June because the line is changing from copper to fibre.

i visited her yesterday to try to fire it up but couldn’t connect her PC but her iPhone did recognise the new WiFi. 

Spoke to BT twice who were not 100% helpful.   I ended up reconnecting the old hub,  BT suggested trying again later in the month!!?

 

any advice pls?

Which version of the Hub is you mother using. If the hh5 or later then that will work with fibre but hh4 or earlier will not

if you do connect the sh2 then you need to turn off smart setup
