Or do I need a modem router becuase Smart Hub doesn't have bridge mode?
You need a modem/ router as the hub doesn't have a bridge mode.
Thanks for you patience with me.
I was wondering would BT give/sell a modem to me. This works on standards but just want to make sure I got the right specs.
I am on copper at the moment not sure what protocols/techs.
If I have to but I would like a separate modem router combination, for the modem bit DrayTek Vigor 130 seams to get mentioned a lot I like that it is not too pricey but I am concern it might be old... ?
Could you advise on something that works and its not to expensive on the modem front please?
On the router front I think I am in love with turris omnia.
Just get an Openreach Huawei HG612 from eBay, they are plug and play. Don't pay extra for an unlocked one, it isn't necessary and is trivial to unlock in any case.
Ah Great! I might still have one of them laying around somewhere.
I am buying another one just in case.
I could not find much info about the specs on the line.
Thanks for everything.
Probably best to post a question here as others can also then advise.
If you are not fussed about using the smart hub 2, then the TP Link TD-W9970 (£35) has no issues with forwarding port 80, as I used to run a website on my home server.
The wireless is only 2.4GHz, but I use a separate wireless mesh.
