What does the 'D' mean in the Network Device listing in Hub Manager?

This has probably been asked and answered before, but the search facility has drawn a blank for me.

Does anybody know what the 'D' denotes on some of the items listed in the Network pane of the Hub Manager (as shown in image). Thanks for any tips.

That was for the hub 5, I have no idea what it means for the smart hub but it isn't DHCP.

That device has a static address set on the device itself.

Usually that the IP allocation is via DHCP from the hub, (dynamically assigned, can change over time, rather than a pseudo static address. You may be able to select if you want this device to be allocated the same IP address each time it connects.

In my device list I have DHCP devices with and without a 'D', and static addressed devices with and without a 'D' !!!

Thanks for that clarification. I had previously only seen those I statically assigned a private IPv4 address and those from DHCP. I have researched further, and according to EE on their Smart Hub which has a similar interface, the D relates to a device which is capable of setting itself an IPv6 ULA (unique local address analogous to IPv4 private addressing). Still as clear as mud, though!

That sounds like a good possibility and stacks up with what I'm seeing. Although why 'D' is anybody's guess.

I have guessed in the past that D = Dual Stack. Probably wrong.
