Re: Whole Home WiFi firmware update v1.02.04 build10

I have been testing running just the master disc connected to the router with the two satellite discs turned off (till the new firmware is released).

This setup has been running and rock solid for ~ 48 hours so far. Obviuosly the WIFI signal and range is much lower than before but at least my Chromecast (and other) devices don't keep disconnecting.

I echo the comments of other contributors that BT should re-release the older ‘stable’ firmware and mobile apps (labelling them as newer versions) till the ‘real’ new versions are available.

I don’t understand why it is taking BT so long to provide an acceptable workaround for its user base.

It looks like the forum software won't let me post that.

No they should not release the old firmware as New as for me the newer firmware is a better, not perfect but better
I suggest if you need the old firmware then it needs to be released as in option

And TheRegister: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2018/03/26/bt_whole_home_wi_fi_issues/

apparently BT are "aware that a small number of customers have been having problems" - what tosh!

1) We need fixed firmware, including the ability to manually install previous firmware versions

2) BT need to properly test firmware before releasing it into the wild

Re: Whole Home WiFi firmware update v1.02.04 build10

Checking my system on the weblink and it showes one disc at 2.4 POOR CONNECTION

YET Connected to that disk is another a 5.0 Good connection?

How does it do that !!!!!

How can a disk showing 2.4 Poor connection feed another at 5.0 with a good connection?

Re: Whole Home WiFi firmware update v1.02.04 build10

I am guessing that the poor disc is too far from its connection but then it generates a good onward signal at 5GHz which is closer to that other disc if that makes sense

I agree, the firmware probably isn't smart enough to take into account anything more than the first link in the chain.

I think you may find it bounces back...  reports elsewhere are that e-mails have been returned un-delivered.
