Wholehome

I have a Wholehome system which works fine. I was planning to connect a Hue bridge to it using one of the Ethernet sockets on the disc. I’m struggling to get a definitive answer to whether or not the Hue bridge will work. Philips say the Hue bridge is not supported on “mesh” networks. Anyone connected one?

Re: Wholehome

I can't comment on whether or not a Hue bridge can be plugged on back of a whole home disc, but do you not always have the option to plug it into the back of your broadband router?

Unless you know for sure that the Hue bridge doesn't have the wireless range to reach where you want to put the light bulbs, then there's no real benefit in plugging it into whole home (since the bridge is static).

Re: Wholehome

Thanks for the response. My concern was it being connected to google home which is on the wi fi mesh but as you say the Hue box does not connect to the wi fi. Looks like I don’t really have a problem.
