hub 6 v smart hub 2

Hi , I currently have a hub6 and super fast fibre 2  broadband . We struggle with WiFi upstairs and considered buying some whole home discs but the more I read about the smarthub 2 and it’s one disc the more I’m tempted towards that . BT state to upgrade will cost  an extra £15 a month , I could buy a hub and disc , unused off eBay for around £100 . Could anyone advise if I can just plug a smart hub 2 in and it will work with my current set up ? The reason I ask is that BT stated they would send an engineer round if I upgraded .

cheers

@wpc1

The guaranteed wifi promise does not extend to items you purchase yourself, and you will not get any support or upgrades. You would be better going via BT.

On new contracts, all items are loaned by BT, and will need to be returned if you move to another provider in the future.

The other option would be to simply add a wireless hotspot device, to cover the room where wifi is poor.
