Re: turning off wifi

Go to solution

Hi Keith

All wired up and it looked good to go. But there was no internet connection. When configuring the router (ie after logging in using admin as the username and p/w) , it asks for a further username and p/w. Would this be the passwords on the back of the new BT router? Thanks, Chris

Re: turning off wifi

Hi again

After a couple of months of happy use of the new modem, a problem has arisen. Today BT 'updated' us to its new fibre optic internet connection. Unfortunately the new tp-link modem now longer works. Reconnecting the BT hub has the internet reconnected, but with the same problem as I started with - I am no longer truly wifi free. Could you offer any advice as to why the new modem isn't working and what I could do? Thanks.

Re: turning off wifi

Its not working because you have changed from ADSL to VDSL. Factory reset the router and set it up again, this time select BT VDSL if it doesn't auto detect. Username and password are as before.

That is assuming that @stonerrock  is not on ultrafast broadband.
