6 months perfect 80/20 now this

Had infinity 2 for 6 months im next to the cabinet. Sync has been 80/20 solid fastpath for months. Attainable speed is 132188 kbps and 59999 kbps. Now im on interleaved down 1354 up 550 depth. Snr gone from 3 to 8. Any ideas please

post the stats from your router   if hh6 then advanced settings then technical log

 

enter your phone number and post results  remember delete number  http://dslchecker.bt.com/adsl/adslchecker.welcome

 

try quiet line test  dial 17070 option 2  should be quiet and best with corded phone

Line is silent at time of test. The uptime is because i have just swapped to a smart hub from asus ac68u

have you noticed your connection dropping as that would be the normal cause of noise margin increase and drop in speed

Nope rock solid no drop puts im about 70 meters from the cabinet and as we were an eo line its very short. I can only put it down to a recent firmware on the old asus that caused it. The new smarthub shows fastpath now. Sync speed is 62 with is low ive always been on 79999. Actual bt speed test show 27mbp

for your speed to drop the connection needs to drop/reset and a few in a short space of time could drop your speed  if hub seems more stable then just leave and check there are no drops/resets and speed should recover - provided the line remains trouble free

Thats my plan hopefully the hub is better. If i remeber the asus had thousands of crc errors. After the firmware updated. So its gone in the bin. Hope after 9 days or so it will recover. Is there anything that needs resetting on fttc ip profile wise or does the dlm work better now than they did on adsl.

Unfortunately unlike adsl the mods cannot help with any reset of DLM so it just patience and maintain connection but it take longer normally for DLM to act then it does on adsl

If you think the firmware update was the cause of the problem then just roll it back to the previous firmware.

 

The old adage is true, "if it works don't try to fix it"!
