Re: ADSL2+ to VDSL has slowed my speed down dramatically- will it get better?

Hi I have replied but not had a response- Did you get my message??

My line stats are now:

BT Wholesale Broadband Performance Test

Broadband Speed Test Results

Download Speed (Mbps): 3.60

Upload Speed (Mbps) : 0.56

Ping Latency (ms): 1315

It won't let me do the further test as my connection keeps "timing out" before it does the test.....

This is all done with connection straight into modem & router- not wifi.

My phone line is now clear with out the significant crackling I had before - but my line DLM does not seem to have rest despite things now been fine for several days- My phone line as mentioned before became faulty and then discomected completely when transfered from ADSL2+ to VDSL2 - then followed by a lightening strike ...

What can I do to sort this out??

Thanks for any help.

Hi @Matti-coops  How has your connection been performing over the last few days? Have you seen any improvement?

Cheers
John

Re: ADSL2+ to VDSL has slowed my speed down dramatically- will it get better?

Thanks John. Speed had been slowly improving over last few days. Engineer from openreach came round this morning after resetting the dlm to check for any faults- he said line fine. He suggested I wait to see home line settles out over next month- and if still slower than ADSL2+ then ask to revert back (as you suggested may be the case). He says I am just on the cusp between the two systems with a line attenuation of 35bd. He also thought that the recent line problems “may” prompt a move to “fibre to premises” as the are a few properties here which will be under the 10mbs speed. That would be great if it was the case.
Thanks again for your help

Best wishes Matthew

Re: ADSL2+ to VDSL has slowed my speed down dramatically- will it get better?

are you sure your attenuation is 35db?  or just a typo and should be 53db?

Re: ADSL2+ to VDSL has slowed my speed down dramatically- will it get better?

Thanks. Definitely 35db. Figure from my router and also confirmed by openreach engineer today with his equipment.

@imjolly, VDSL won't work with an attenuation of 53 dB, even 35 dB is pushing it.
