Actions I need to do post upgrade?

Hi,

BT finally managed to upgrade my connection to fibre this morning - one month later than scheduled. Due to CV no doubt so can’t be helped.

however, it’s been 3 hours now and internet has not reconnected.

Is there something I need to do to reset the router or something?

i work from home and have a 3 year old in the house... so internet is a must!

please help 🙂

Re: Actions I need to do post upgrade?

If it has the red WAN port I presume you have upgraded to FTTP. What lights are showing on the ONT?

Re: Actions I need to do post upgrade?

If the ONT is the router - then is showing flashing orange bar and intermittently a flashing b shows up.

Re: Actions I need to do post upgrade?

No, the ONT is the fibre modem that Openreach should have fittedd when they provided the fibre cable to your house. Were you expecting to get FTTP or FTTC? You may have been sent the FTTP version of the hub by mistake. If you were expecting FTTC and the hub is not connecting it means the service hasn't been activated yet although it should still connect to your old broadband (assuming that was with BT). If you are expecting FTTP and haven't got an ONT, its not going to happen now until at least June as Openreach aren't entering premises.

Re: Actions I need to do post upgrade?

We only connected in Feb and intent was always to upgrade so I would imagine we got the right ONT installed - but I don’t know where in house it would be?

from what I can tell - the hub is flashing orange which should mean its connecting but has been doing that for a lot longer than the three minutes the video says (more like an hour)

Re: Actions I need to do post upgrade?

For FTTP, the hub doesn't connect to your phone socket, the red WAN port connects to the LAN port on the ONT. I very much suspect you haven't got an ONT.

Yes - I don’t think we have one of those.

Re: Actions I need to do post upgrade?

It depends how it is delivered, fibre 2 isn't a technology, it's a marketing term.

Enter your phone number on the DSL checker and post a screenshot of the result after editing out your number
