Address Not Showing On Openreach Database

Hi all,

I’m trying to sign up for BT fibre. Using the regular customer facing site when I enter my postcode it says fibre is available in my area.

However, further down the process when I pick the specific address from a list I am advised I can only receive regular broadband.

The backstory...
- My house is on a corner plot.
- It was recently built by an independent builder who knocked down one property and built 2 houses in its place.

I used BT live chat and was advised to call the Sales Team. The Sales Team advised I couldn’t get fibre as I don’t appear on the Openreach database.

I checked my postcode here - https://www.openreach.co.uk/orpg/home/index.do - and sure enough my address isn’t listed (others on my street are).

I only moved in this weekend, the owner of the other property on the plot moved in over 6 months ago. His address is listed and is ready for fibre (he may already have it I haven’t met him yet).

What can I do get my address listed?

The 2nd message on this thread - https://community.bt.com/t5/Bills-Packages/OpenReach-Address-Database/td-p/1490987 - has a link to a form, however the form won’t load for me.

Ok. So some progress. But definitely not resolved yet. This was the response from Openreach to that form:

“I've looked into the provision of service to your property and find that there isn't any work to be carried out by the Newsites Team. The team that you've contacted specifically monitors progress of the installation of infrastructure to new developments that have been registered by the developer during construction of the site. We have no record of the development having been registered with the Newsites Team therefore there has been no Newsite involvement.

Your address is currently showing as a Silver Matched Address on our records, please contact your Serivice Provider and raise an order for service with them they will then liaise with the appropriate Openreach department to arrange for a connection to your property, subject to survey.

The problem is when I contacted a supplier (BT) they said there was nothing they could do. I guess I should just call them back and quote the above?

Tried BT live chat and they asked to call: 0800800150.

Called BT Sales again. Quoting the Openreach response they advised I should order regular broadband and once that goes through I will be updated to a Gold Match Address.

That should work or just order a phone line. The result would be the same.

The first thing you need to do is make sure your address is registered with the Royal Mail as that is the database drawn upon for addresses.
