Alternative to fibre installation as distance to property from pole needs our contribution

I was advised Openreach were rolling out full fibre to my property. When Engineer arrived he measured the distance from nearest pole to our property and said a surveyor would need to visit, as distance too great. All our utilities come underground. I received an email saying I would need to contribute 3K towards cost. What happens when analogue is turned off if I don't have fibre installed? Currently have broadband and cordless landline.

You don't need to move to full fibre as the switch off only applies to ability to use existing line for calls. When move to digital voice that will work over your existing copper line just instead of connecting phone to wall socket you will connect phone to the BT SH2 so broadband and DV will be supplied over existing broadband connection

Re: Alternative to fibre installation as distance to property from pole needs our contribution

This issue regards to Network Build/Alterations has popped up a few times now.

When I was on Tools if you had an existing Service FTTP was considered an Upgrade and there was no charge for any Digs, Duct, etc.

I can only assume Openreach have now changed their Policy but it seems a bit backwards, especially given how many Alt Nets are out there now.
