I'm looking to replace my HomeHub 5B with a DrayTek Vigor 130 and a homebrew router. Anyone here use a similar combination on their Infinity connection?
I'm after some feedback on the modem itself, and specifically around how it performs with BT Infinity connections. I have the 80/20 package.
Is there a risk of missing out on new technologies (Vectoring, G.Fast, G.Inp, whatever) if I use a third-party modem?
Interestingly the Vigor 130 appears to support vectoring bit not G.Inp (G998.4)
im user of vigor 130
i have a question regarding firmware.
I see on draytek website newer fw as my one but there is few versions of this firmware
i have no idea which i can use
im bt infinity user
Really? I see only one firmware available for download here: http://www.draytek.co.uk/support/downloads/vigor-130
Are you looking on their FTP site?
3.8.1BT appears to be the latest firmware for the device. There are two files in the bundle; they are identical but the one with the ".rst" extension will reset your device to factory default settings.
Firmware File Types
The ZIP file contains the firmware with two different file extensions, .ALL and .RST. The firmware is identical but the RST file contains factory default settings. If you install the ALL file, your modem will retain all existing settings. If you use the RST file, all settings will be wiped from your modem.
PS: I no longer use this modem.
