Archer AX50 router cant connect to internet

Hi all, 

Have just had FTTP fitted with BT and want to use my Archer AX50 router to get an improved signal. I follow the TP Link app but it keeps saying connected without internet. Does the FTTP have a modem fitted or do I need to use the  Smarthub as a connection which I dont want to do?. What am I doing wrong if anything?

If you have FTTP, the ONT is the modem. You simply need to enter the  PPPoE username bthomehub@btbroadband.com and password BT
