BT Broadband new customer no fibre?

Hello,

I have been a bt customer for 5 years, when we moved to Cornwall bt told me the internet i could have and best i could expect would be standard broadband with an maximum speed of 2MB, i actually average between 0.75 to 1. It has always been like this. Approx 18 months ago my neighbour moved in and BT agreed to install fibre into his home, he told me he had to phone bt after checking the fibre checker website https://www.homeandwork.openreach.co.uk/when-can-i-get-fibre.aspx and they agreed.

I have since tried several times to do this but can never get through to anyone who either i can understand or can understand me, this generally leads to me becoming very frustrated and not bothering for a month or so!

My question is this, the website says i can get fibre? who can give it to me? I am no longer in any kind of contract with BT so surely i could even sign up as a new customer if cost was a problem?

Thankyou in advance for any help.

For all ADSL and WBC Fibre to the Cabinet (VDSL or G.fast) services, the stable line rate will be determined during the first 10 days of service usage.

This line is on a Market A Exchange.

Throughput/download speeds will be less than line rates and can be affected by a number of factors within and external to BT's network, Communication Providers' networks and within customer premises.

The Stop Sale date for Datastream is from 30-Jun-2012; the Formal Retirement date for Datastream is from 30-Jun-2014. The Stop Sale date for IPstream is from 31-Jan-2016; the Formal Retirement date for IPstream is from 31-Dec-2016.

If the End User wishes to migrate from their current Broadband supplier they will need to contact the Broadband supplier they want to take service from to arrange for the service to be migrated.

Please note that postcode and address check results are indicative only. Most accurate results can be obtained from a telephone number, NAD, UPRN or Access Line ID (ALID) check.

Note: If you decide to place an order for a WBC fibre product, an appointment may be required for an engineer to visit the end user's premises to supply the service.

Thank you for your interest.

Re: BT Broadband new customer no fibre?

You are a lucky swine  :D... You can reach far and beyond in terms of the vast majority. Fibe to the premises. 99% are on Fibre to the cabinet which is weaker.

Re: BT Broadband new customer no fibre?

FTTP - fibre to the premises - give capability of 330mb connection speed depending on package selected

FTTC - fibre to the cabinet ( then your existing copper cable from cab to your home - gives capablity of 80mb
