BT Fibre 100 Fail

We had installed booked post home move today. Engineer was here 8hrs(!!) and still not working. Unconvinced line is active and apparently our Home Hub 2 not compatible as no WAN in. 
Install date moved forward but the hardware order wasn’t so am stuck high and dry. Other half convinced new line isn’t properly up and running based on lights on internal box.  Box mounted not straight and hole in wall huge. Completely unimpressed.
