I believe it relates to those using the smart hub 2 only.
Sorry should have mentioned i do not use the smart hub now.. not within the last few months
but the last 3+ months i have had no issue with upload speeds.
download speeds go around 910-970 on download rarely dipping below that (for now anyway lol)
When first got FTTP installed the upload was capped to 50mb but this sorted itself out within half hour on the smarthub and never had the problem sinse.
Reason for switching routers was for better wifi speed
I am not currently using netgear rax80
Jamie, does the smart hub 2 not provide the “modem” functionality or is that done by the fibre ONT? I’ve got a Netgear Orbi system but didnt think that could be used instead of the smart hub 2, just thought it was in addition to?
Big thanks to the moderators for their help, my upload is now at 110mb 🙂
Keep up the great work!
Should work fine with netgear orbi kit.. i assume they all have ethernet so should be able to link the first one to them all.
All i had to do with my netgear router was enter the bt address and pass and worked right away.
with my smarthub 2 i was getting max speed on the idm of around 102.00 MBps which is around 800mb
(still crazy fast)
but using netgear my speeds go around 118-122MBps so speeds of around 970
wifi 6 speeds are go around 590-740
@m4rks the ONT is the modem. Having the SH2 with the Orbi Router in bridge mode is fine. I did that myself for some time with the RBK50. However, you can remove the SH2 and connect the Orbi directly to the ONT but you'll need to change the Orbi mode from bridge to router.
@jamie1985 What Netgear router are you using to get those speeds?
I was thinking of switching out the Smart Hub 2 for something else as I'm getting ports dropping connection when I have auto speed negotiation turned on.
Think I might still need the SH2 as I’ve heard SkyQ doesn’t like working with Orbi so currently have that hardwired directly into the SH2 then everything else off the Orbi
