BT Home Hub 5 (Type B) | Software version v0.07.03.0814-BT | Last updated 15/11/2014

Any idea how to get my HH5 updated to the latest version? I've reset it a few times over the past few months to try and get it to download and update to the latest firmware ( V0.07.01.0235-BT according to http://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/13073/~/how-can-i-check-the-firmware-version-on-my-bt... but nothing has happened since January.

 

I'm guessing it won't update because mine is currently a higher version, although that was test firmware. I just wondered if it will ever get updated?

firmware updates are automatic and will happen just leave your hub connected 24/7.  there is no site where you can get a manual update

Ive had it connected 24/7 since that update and nothing has happened. I reset it in May to see if it would pull down the updated firmware but it hasn't.

Like I said I think it's due to the beta firmware having a higher version than the latest version which is why it has never updated. Surely it can't take 6 months to update?

yes beta software does get updated automatically but as your hub is working ok I would not worry as some of the recent firmware releases have had their problem

Hmm, that's weird. I wonder why it hasn't updated mine at all then. Yes my hub is working okay I just thought it might have been stuck or something due to not updating to the new firmware at all.

i have known hubs that have taken a year plus before an update

the updates are normally only bugfixes

just noticed my hh type b had an update on the 11th dec

Hi I got the same update on Sunday

Carnt see much difference apart from it now tells you the upstream Line Attenuation and on the home network page it seems to put a 'D' by my iPhone for some reason, still very stable and I find it much better than the type A I'm on a Eci cabinet 😟 So I'm assuming the update just had a few feature changes but mainly bug fixes but for me the hub B very stable for me!

The "D" means that the IP address has been assigned bt the home hub DHCP server.

Thanks Keith noticed that it only seems to apply to iPhones and I Pads, so have you got any more info on what the update includes?
