Is it working now and have you got your laptop connected?

Best to find out if the engineer actually had a job to make sure it was working with your laptop or not first before making a complaint...

Some of the jobs are issued to engineers to just fit a modem.

Wouldn't it have been better to have complained to the engineer when he reached for his van keys?

Errr... are you saying an engineer would do a new install and walk away before making sure he'd done his job?

A contractor may do so but I and many others expect better from Openreach engineers.

No im saying that there are different types of install jobs issued to engineers. Not every job involves hooking their router up and checking for connectivity.

Some jobs are just to connect the line at the cab.

Some involve cab work and fitting a ssfp and modem ONLY

The majority though, involve hooking up a isp's router and demonstrating it on a computer.

So best check before slating the engineer... It may not have been his job in the first place.
