BT Infinity 1 speeds seem to have dropped recently - have I got a problem?

Go to solution

Hello,

I've noticed that my speed has dropped recently, where I was getting about 32Mbps on my iPhone I'm now down to around 17Mbps.  From reading another post, I wondered if the below is showing I have noise on my line?  Could somebody advise?

ie:  22.6 against an optimum of 19.8?  Am I right in thinking that causes DLM to kick in and slow things down?

1. Product name:BT Home Hub
2. Serial number:+068543+NQ41912680
3. Firmware version:Software version 4.7.5.1.83.8.173.1.6 (Type A) Last updated 31/07/14
4. Board version:BT Hub 5A
5. VDSL uptime:0 days, 16:28:40
6. Data rate:10000 / 39993
7. Maximum data rate:28784 / 86909
8. Noise margin:22.6 / 19.8
9. Line attenuation:0.0 / 8.5
10. Signal attenuation:0.0 / 8.5
11. Data sent/received:311.4 MB / 353.8 MB

You are getting the full infinity 1 speeds ie 40mbps download and 10mbps upload. I would not trust an iphone speed test as they are not capable of getting the max out of a connection due to WiFi and hardware limitations. Use a hardwired computer to test. But it does look like everything is ok.

Ah, great.  Thanks for your help... I'll try some other bits to try and get the speed up over WiFi.
