BT Infinity 2 FritzBox 7390 - slow syncing upload speeds

Morning,

I updated my FritzBox 7390 to the latest firmware FRITZ!OS 6.30 two days ago and since then my upload syncs with only 2mbit compared to 20mbit before.

Any idea why that is? Also, my download speeds gradually decreased over the past few months and went down from 80mbit to 65mbit.

Now the Fritzbox shows it syncs with 80mbit again but only 2mbit upload.

I connected the BT Openreach modem and a test shows that with the modem it syncs with 66mbit / 16 mbit.

I am puzzled - is there anything I can do about this? Thanks.

Put the old firmware back on the Fritzbox?

I'm obviously aware that this is an option and I will surely do test it. I would like to know if other people are experiencing the same thing and also if there is a fix.

I do like to keep my router up to date

Yes, I have the same problem and I've seen others  do too (see my other post)

Its starting to look like Openreach have done something that causes a problem with Fritzboxen. You should contact AVM support for help.

Hmm, don't quite follow the logic that a Fritz Box firmware upgrade not working is Openreach's fault.

Re: BT Infinity 2 FritzBox 7390 - slow syncing upload speeds

Nowhere did he suggest this was Openreach's fault.
He rightly pointed out that a change on the network broke compatibility so to speak.
Doing a BT wholesale speedcheck using the original modem indicated a line fault. I'm waiting for my line to be checked. Will have results soon.
Internet works with the openreach modem although slower than before.

Before I had 75-80mbit and full 20meg upload.
Now with openreach modem 64 / 15mbit
My fritzbox showed it was syncing with 80 / 2. A speed test produced 55 / 2meg though.

It is very weird. I hope to get back to 80 / 20.

Re: BT Infinity 2 FritzBox 7390 - slow syncing upload speeds

I think the firmware upgrade is a red herring. Mine changed speed without changing the firmware. I suspect that something has changed on the BT side and whatever that is it has revealed an issue with the Fritzbox and how it syncs the upload speed.

if anyone is raising a support ticket with AVM tell them that there is another ticket with the same problem,  AVM Ticket-ID 103162.
