Try a factory reset of the homehub by pressing a pin into the recess button on the rear for about 20 seconds. If that does not help you will need to contact BT and report the fault and what the engineer said.
I don't understand what you mean with " I was trying to reset all of the settings available in broadband during Ethernet connection." You should not need to do any setting up for the Homehub to connect to the Internet and your computer to connect by Ethernet to the Homehub.
Is the program you are talking about, BT Desktop Help? If it is uninstall it from your computer. It is not needed and can cause problems.
To connect by Ethernet all you need to do is plug the Ethernet cable into the Homehub and the other end into your computer. You do not need to enter any settings.
If the Homehub is not connecting to the Internet, as would appear to be the case with the orange light showing, you will need to contat BT.
