BT Infinity Profile stuck since 2011

Go to solution

Hello, I recently obtained some detailed stats after all these years of being on BT Infinity. Can anyone tell me if they're bad/good and if I have any chance of getting a faster connection? I've been stuck at 45Mb for seven years...

I'm on BT Superfast Fibre Plus (The lowest tier, I think?)

BT Checker using my telephone:

VDSL Range A - 66 - 45.3 | 17.2 - 11 | Threshold - 39.8

VDSL Range B - 55.2 - 35 | 14.6 - 7.8 | Threshold - 31.1

Here's all the stats I obtained when I unlocked the openreach modem

Line profile

Download 44534 | Upload 9926

Attainable Rate

Download 43320 | Upload - 9926

VDSL 17A

Line Attenuation

Download 18.6 | Upload 0.0

SNR Margin

Download 6.1 | Upload 6.2

Power(?)

14.0 | 7.4

INP

Download 47.00 | Upload 0

G.INP

Download Enabled | Upload Not Enabled

Vectoring Status (?) 5

SNR Margin 18.6

Line Attentuation 14

45mb is right at bottom of your estimated range are you using the test socket with a new filter to see if that gives you a bit more speed?

I tested it with the standard infinity faceplate. Should I take the faceplate off and use the test socket?

your best conenction is with a filter in the test socket as that eliminates evrything else  you may find not much difference but al least you have checked   also initially maybe not much faster connection speed but also check if attainable has increased

Re: BT Infinity Profile stuck since 2011

Update: I re-flashed my modem with the 08 firmware, I mistakenly used the old 06 firmware pre G.INP. I don't know if this is the cause for my new speeds but in the last 24 hours my speed has increased by 8Mb.

I ran the bt speedtester and my IP Profile is capped at 46Mb, do I need to wait for my profile to automatically change or will resetting the router/modem activate the new speeds? I don't want to turn off the equipment whilst DLM is actually helping me out. I just don't know why my IP Profile hasn't adjusted for the speed increase 😕

Re: BT Infinity Profile stuck since 2011

from stats looks like G.INP is active and I agree with @pippincp you are now as good as it gets  your profile is based on connection speed not other way round and speed is at max
