Re: BT Infinity and gaming ping????

It's on both wired and wireless. But I notice it more on wireless as my gaming PC is wireless. I'll also check these new links out. I'm paying a lot for infinity and if I can't play games I won't be happy 😞

Re: BT Infinity and gaming ping????

If your problem is with gaming over wireless, the best fix is to use wired ethernet.

Other wise you're in the realm of wifi problems, caused by interference from neighbours, and smart wireless automatically switching channels which means your PC get disconnected and has to reconnect - to mention just 2 of the many wireless problems.

Re: BT Infinity and gaming ping????

It's been great for 4 years. It's only been playing up the last 2 ish months. I've got NO new tech so I can't believe it's an interference problem as it was ok before?????

Re: BT Infinity and gaming ping????

Are you connecting on 2.4GHz or 5GHz?

Re: BT Infinity and gaming ping????

Not a clue. How do I check? And when I'm looking which is the best one and I'll change it if needed. Thanks.

Re: BT Infinity and gaming ping????

Best think to do then is to go into your advanced settings on the HH5 and select the wireless tab.

Then select the 5GHz tab and select NO to "Sync with 2.4 GHz:".

Then choose a new SSID by adding "5" to the existing one, so you can tell the difference between 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks.

While you're there change "Channel selection:" from "Smart wireless" to the current channel.

Then press the "Apply" button.

Then choose the 2.4GHz tab and change "Channel selection:" from "Smart wireless" to the current channel on 2.4GHz.

Then press the "Apply" button again.

Now on your PC you can select which band to connect to.

Re: BT Infinity and gaming ping????

Ok. It's done. Tried a few speed tests and the 5ghz ping is 1ms quicker. I'll try both on some games tomorrow. Thanks for help. Sorry to be a pain.
