Re: BT Infinity issues for the last few days

I noticed something very strange whilst signing into PSN on my PS3.
Firstly my friends list wouldn't load up correctly or never load up at all. It would eventually sign me out with an error.
If I attempted to download an app or game it wouldn't even start it would be stuck at please wait making me have to re do the download and it would work.
Doing a connection test on my PS3 yielded strange results like NAT Type failing, PSN timing out and the connection results no longer reporting a result on UPnP and staying blank as if it couldn't get a result.
I use static Ip and DMZ and used it for months. I only noticed this issue approximately 5pm yesterday before 5pm yesterday everything was working flawlessly. I looked on down detector then when noticing these weird issues and it did state there were issues reported around 5pm and are still persistent.
The ps3 web browser has issues opening web pages usually resulting in a error code 80710092 which implies slow speeds or congestion.
Doing a speed test on my ps3 web browser shows a consistent 37 down and 7 up and 23 ms ping.
So whatever BT has messed around with has messed up my ps3 gaming night's. Also on my event logs even though I use dmz and static ip it's full of closed and blocked ports from my ps3 including invalid packets from my ps3's ip address.
On my laptop web sites like to hang and freeze. Content like images take a long time to load. Streaming services like to buffer etc from time to time. It's erratic and random.
I'm from Sunderlan, North East. SR2 area.
Mark.

Re: BT Infinity issues for the last few days

Near Sunderland here as well and my internet has been awful the past few days.

If this isn't fixed sharpish it's the last straw for me, on a rolling contract anyway and should of left months ago.

Re: BT Infinity issues for the last few days

Mine only started acting up yestetday. It's totally destroyed my gaming. I just don't understand why I'm getting blocked and closed packets constantly from my ps3's ip address when it was working fine up until 5pm yestetday. It's affecting my ps3 worse than anything else on my network. I did think my ps3 was broke or my hh5 but thankfully reading up on here has caused me not to destroy anything just yet lol.

Mine only started yesterday too. Just tried call of duty and it doesn't work either. Spoke to my brother in law and he's having the same issues and is also on infinity.

Re: BT Infinity issues for the last few days

Do you get any of the issues I mentioned above? I'm just curious and if possible could you look at your event logs on your home hub and see if you get constant closed ports etc on your consoles ip address. I'm just curious.
Thanks if you do or can.

Re: BT Infinity issues for the last few days

Can't test that as I'm using a different router by my NAT setting changes a lot on the xbox. I'd never seen a strict NAT setting till now.

Re: BT Infinity issues for the last few days

Oh wow that's bad. My NAT Type is always 2 on my PS3 network settings but can't stay connected to PSN long enough to see if I got a strict NAT lol.
I most likely do considering. My NAT sometimes doesn't show up if I test it anyway until I cancel it it usually reverts to 2 or it fails.
Thanks anyway.

Re: BT Infinity issues for the last few days

Having the exact same issues as MarkG33.
At approximately 5pm yesterday (09/12/14) I started getting kicked from online multiplayer on my Playstation 4 every 10-20 minutes and have been unable to play online content or join party chat with my friends since.
Testing connection on the Playstation results in either failing to connect to PSN, or showing NAT Type: Failed (have always had NAT type 2 and mostly stable connection for months), with massive fluctuations in connection speed (from 30mbps - 9mbps download speed). Not to mention the dozens of server timeouts inbetween.
Have since been on my HH5 and set static IP, port forwarding etc etc but to no avail. However, my other devices appear fine, despite some pages failing to load occasionally.

The kicker is that I spent £20 on the Destiny DLC earlier that day, and as an online-only game, have missed out on 2 precious nights of gaming with my friends on the few days I booked off work. Although the weather is bad here in Wakefield, my friends' connections appear to be unphased, and I am left sat here massively frustrated.

Like Mark said, before 5pm on Tuesday my connection to PSN was great.

Re: BT Infinity issues for the last few days

It is a strange one - I'm using the PS3's web browser right now and it's hilariously bad. It is slow and occasionally reports the error 80710092 and I need to refresh it. On the bbmax speed test I still get 37 down and 7 up with a low 23ms ping and it still struggles.

It worked flawless beforehand despite it not getting good press anyway. I wonder if your PS4 web browser will do the same showing errors etc.

Since you are using a HH5 could you check if your PS4's ip address in the HH5's event log is reporting closed or blocked events or invalid packets like mine is?

Its unusual to see invalid packets from my PS3's ip address. Its chock full of closed, blocked and invalid packets.

Thanks!

Example from my HH5's Event logs -

Re: BT Infinity issues for the last few days

For me this is much worse with wifi devices than it is with wired, things like iPads and laptops are almost unusable at the moment for me and I have tried everything under the sun to try and fix this issue.
