Re: BT Infinity issues for the last few days

I've bene having the same problems - probably for about a week now, but he last 2 days appear to have been especially bad. Gaming is nigh on impossible with constant disconnects and drop-outs, streaming has constant issues, and sites as others have mentioned - appear to just kinda stall as packets are lost.

There's a serious issue here and it's becoming increasingly frustrating having to deal with it. Here's my traceroute:

Re: BT Infinity issues for the last few days

I was contacted by an admin whom i sent details and more traceroute results to (plenty of 'request timed out' like everyone else), and she replied almost immediately saying she'd forwarded the traceroutes to the team and that they will update the thread when they get some more information.

As for the 3 days thing, that seems to be the timeframe since online gaming was rendered impossible for myself and many other PlayStation/Xbox/PC users (still can't connect to PSN for longer than 10 seconds at a time since Tuesday evening, whilst YouTube appears to be working fine on my laptop). It does appear that problems have been occuring for much longer than that though.

Re: BT Infinity issues for the last few days

I agree that this has been happening for weeks not days, strangely (for me anyway) it always seems to occur between 4pm and 9pm peak loading time here at least with kids on as well as adults. I have been doing traces for ages with time outs - and cause I work in IT gave up on support after the first call - glad to see this has made it into the tech forums as well as here.

Suspect they will be looking at dodgy load balancing somewhere << or perhaps they should stick to being a data carrier rather than a media content supplier. Infinity here (Edinburgh) started going downhill when they started promoting IPTV after the sporting aquisitions....

Wont bother posting trace logs as im sure by now they know summit is goosed... or that the core is a turkey just to be seasonal.

Re: BT Infinity issues for the last few days

Having the exact same issue. Bandwidth on speedchecker is 70Mb/sec but internet virtually unusable because pages fail to load. Excluded everthing in the house by disabling Wifi and plugging straight into the router, faffed about for ages with DNS and adjusting Safari pre-fetching before seeing this post.

Sent my tracelog full of starry gaps to the BT live-chat person and their decision was .... to send me a new router.

Am somewhat unconvinced that will help but hey ho ...

Might well have a try with my Vigor 120 later and see how that fares.

Re: BT Infinity issues for the last few days

By all means try different routers, but I think you'll be wasting your time -- and potentially running the risk of affecting your IP Profile by all the powering off/on. The complaints on this thread are from all over the country., and it's been acknowledged by BT as a core network issue.

One would have thought that the front line support staff would at least be aware of this problem by now. It's even hit the press.

Re: BT Infinity issues for the last few days

Idly wonders if London Air Traffic Control is a BT customer.
