BT Infinity just dropped speed

Hi,

Watching Netflix last night & the quality kept dropping in & out. This morning i rebooted my HH5 via the button on the top.

My DL speed via BT Wholesale Test was 0.61 Mbps

IP Profile setat 62.05 Mbps (40-62.05 acceptable it says)

How can i resolve this issue , as I normally don't have any issues

Cheers for any help

Re: BT Infinity just dropped speed

post stats from your hh5  troubleshooting then helpdesk

run btspeedtester and when first test completes then run diagnostic test and post result  must be done with wired connection

Re: BT Infinity just dropped speed

Were you watching Netflix with a wired or wireless connection? When running the speed test imjolly linked to, can you run two tests, one in the day and one at night (ideally when the issue occurs), as that would suggest if there's a congestion issue.

Re: BT Infinity just dropped speed

Hi,

It is a wired connection to the BT Mini YouView box.

One problem with testing with a wired connection is i use an Acer Chromebook which doesnt have an etherport so would have to get an adaptor or something

Re: BT Infinity just dropped speed

Yes, wireless is prone to so much intereference that wired is the best (and only recognised way of testing here) method.

Re: BT Infinity just dropped speed

Ok, Thanks so much for the quick reponses.

TBH it seems to have gone back to normal on all tests i have tried (60+Mbps)

I will look into getting an adapter for future use

Re: BT Infinity just dropped speed

Hi,

It was a manual reset I did.

There seems to be a bit of noise on the line, not totally silent (Panasonic Cordless)

Cheers

Re: BT Infinity just dropped speed

corded is better but cordless often a dull hum is normal  anything else is a problem and needs reported to 151 as a phone fault not broadband
