Hoping someone can help me with an issue I've had for the past week.
Around about 9pm for a few hours my broadband drops from 75mb to between 5-15mb.
Not an absolute disaster but certainly not what I'm paying for.
I've had BT Broadband since around November 2016 with no issues and now this all of a sudden!
I've been in touch with someone on the BT Live Chat who sent me out a new router but this has not solved the issue.
Anyone else experience this?!
Solved! Go to Solution.
Can you post stats from your router
can you run btspeedtester and when first test completes run diagnostic test and post results. Must be done with wired connection Can you run when speed appears ok and when low

Welcome to this user forum.
Please can you follow the instructions on this page.
Action to take when download speed are dropping during peak times
I don't have any stats to post from the router but I can assure you that there is an issue.
Every night for the past week the speeds have dropped to between 5-10mb, I even saw it is low as 2mb last night!
Surely this doesn't have something to do with congestion?!
I even swapped over the routers with no difference.
Apparently this issue will be resolved by the 31st Jan but there is an Engineer booked to come out on 3rd Feb...strange
You will need to follow the instructions I posted about the speed test results, so the result can be stored on the BT server.
Which exchange are you connected to?
Okay, thanks Keith.
I will carry out these instructions this evening.
I am on the DOUGLAS exchange (WSDOU)
Hi @deadpool There is congestion on an SVLAN in your area. Please drop us over your details and we will be happy to check if this in the SVLAN that you are on. You can contact us by clicking on my user name and selecting contact the mods.
Thanks

Thanks, message sent
Hi @deadpool Thanks for that and we have them in our queue. We are up to date at the moment so you will be contacted within 24 hrs.
cheers
John
If it turns out to be a congested svlan then cancel the engineer as he won't be able to resolve it. The mods will sort it out for you.
