@ DaveNI1979 - What if you try selecting a different test server on speedtest.net? Try one of the London ones.
@ Enceladus - Can you try the Thinkbroadband speed test and post the result?
this one showed a download speed of 7.01mbps
average of about 130kb/s and 15 minutes to download this file
Its the same download speed approx for me no matter what server i pick and the same on the thinkbroadband test. Way lower than it should be and cant stream stuff without buffering and online gaming is pointless.
Do those Thinkbroadband testers not show the HTTPx1 for you?
@ DaveNI1979 - Be careful as your IP address is displayed in those speedtest.net images.
Another one is to try pinging bbc.co.uk with 1000 pings.
Go Start > Run > Cmd (enter) > ping -n 1000 bbc.co.uk It will take 5-10 mins and make sure your connection isn't being used. I would expect that you're seeing packet loss.
Yeah andy im getting dropped packets. This would explain the skipping on fifa really frustrating.
I'm in Northern Ireland, Portadown.
Here's a speedtest result I ran last night: http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/4087117065
This is what i'm getting at the moment: http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/4088691750
Drops from 60Mb/s during the night to 5Mb/s at peak times. Paying for Infinity 2 and can't even stream video content during the day anymore. I'm trying to watch twitch streams and they're lagging. Has been like this the past few days.
I had a phone call back from a BT guy in Northern Ireland, he said it's affecting lots of people across NI...
