I have just supposedly upgraded to Superfast Fibre Plus increasing my monthly payments and my Broadband speeds have decreased on the day it went live? I do regular speed checks and the day it went live it dropped by 6MB!
Contacted India which was absolutely pointless, been there before with them, have monitored my speeds daily for the last 5 days and there has been a steady decline in my download speed when I was told I would get more?
Can someone please give me the contact numbers to the 'Dedicated UK and Ireland-based support team that are on hand 24/7' that I have just signed a contract to have available. They promise this facility but never give you the numbers.
Thanks in advance
I should imagine it's just a case of waiting for G.Inp to kick in again as many have reported the line being reset on upgrade.
G.INP is a newer alternative to FEC (Forward Error Correction) and interleaving to providing a lower overhead (FEC loses about 12% whereas G.INP only corrects errors when they actually occur) so there is little overhead. This usually results in increased speeds and lower SNR (typically 3.0dB as opposed to the standard 6.0dB).
It can take up to 14 days to kick in and is entirely automatic.
Would you recommend waiting this duration or contact the help line anyway. Its been 6 days and its not getting any better...
Hope this can help:
