Recently I bought a TP-Link Archer VR2800, and we have a BT Ultrafast connection. It didn't work for some reason.
I've tried the setup wizard several times, then tried to manually configure, nothing happened.
BT Smart hub just not able to keep up the connections, it drops really often, even in peak times, in the afternoon.
We have loads of devices, so maybe BT Smart hub is just weak.
Then I tried Netgear Nighthawk D7000, that also didn't work.
Any suggestions for a beefy 3rd party modem/router combo what will work with BT Ultrafast?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Ultrafast 3 is delivered by either a FTTP connection or G,Fast over copper.
Assuming you have a G.Fast connection you would need a G.Fast modem/router combo such as a TP-Link AC2800.
I've tried that, didn't work. Then I've tried the Netgear D7000v2, that didn't work also.
What I'm looking for now, my last hope is the ASUS DSL-AC88U. That suppose to be support G.Fast connections.
Thanks, I've picked up the wrong one. I'm gonna wait till my refund comes from Currys, then I gonna buy the ASUS. That should work also.
I don't think the G.fast version of the TP-Link AC2800 has even been released yet - certainly nowhere is selling it.
