BT VDSL New Cabinet SNR Change

Hi,

Very long story cut short... after two years of fighting with other local residents and our MSP, BT installed a VDSL/FTTC cabinet much closer to our homes. We used to get 11meg down, 1.1 up before this new cabinet went live. The cabinet distance used to be approx 2.5 Km from the home, and is now 0.6km from the home. Neighbours have jumped to around 39 mb/sec down, 12 up - which is roughly about right! Sadly, my Home Hub (which has been into the test socket for weeks now in preperation of this and to completely bypass anything internal) is synching at a much lower speed! (22 meg down, 6 up)

I'm fighting with BT again (which is like talking to a brick wall) and trying to get the line profile reset. On looking at the Hub Logs, I see the connection did indeed run at 39 down, 10 up, immediately when the switch happened (see log entrys from 11:34, 23-MAY-2018. The SNR also changed from 3.1dB to 6.0dB.... The line however is now sitting at the much lower speeds, and I'm not wanting to reboot as DLMwill penalise me for that. Can anyone suggest what I can do to get comparable speeds to my neighbours? BT insist there is no faults in the line, despite a conersation with an OpenReach engineer working at the cabinet saying there ery likely was as they have had a lot since the cabinet went live? Any ideas?  I've pasted the WAN Log below from the home hub 5

Post your connection stats from the hub.

Hub 5 troubleshooting/helpdesk.

Hub 6 Advanced settings/technical logs.

 Do a quiet line test 17070 option 2.

down speed looking ok and almost at attainable speed  you may get a bit more speed when G.INP kicks in so just maintain connection

Thanks for the reply.

I'll leave it a few days and see what happens. Just interesting as to why the connection synced at 40 meg/sec when connected to the new cabinet, then backed off quickly (where neighbours are sitting solid on 40meg/sec)

It does seem to be slowly climbing

The 'reboots' seem to happen overnight every couple of nights, as seen by the VDSL uptime zeroing out last night - would DLM etc. be a possible culprit here forcing the connection to drop and re-establish? I ask because previously on the cabinet that was literally 1 mile away, it was a slow connection, but it was solid in reliability

it may just be new cabinet settling in and also other people getting added

Yeah - I'll leave it a few more weeks and hope for the best.  It is slightly improving each time it resets, so hopefully that will continue.

It's now been almost a month, and the connection seems to be even more unstable!

It's still in the test socket.  See below for a paste of the WAN logs, showing just disconnects and reconnects - does this look like there is an issue?

You are now in a banded profile due to all the disconnections. If using test socket and quiet line test ok then need to get engineer visit
