BT box attached to skirting

Hi, please be kind as I’m new to this! We have just moved house and found a box with “BT open reach” on the front attached to the skirting board (with a wire running in to the house). Obviously want to remove this and re-do skirting and won’t be using BT for WiFi - any suggestions on what to do to remove this?

Re: BT box attached to skirting

Unless Virgin media supply your area, that socket will be your only connection to the Internet/phone service regardless of supplier. It also belongs to Openreach and shouldn't be removed.

Are you getting no Land Line Based Phone/Broadband from any provider at all?
