BT flashing light

I have connected my old BT smart hub 2 to my new EE hub, and I have set up them both in a way that has turned the BT broadband into an AP. However, there is a flashing purple light telling me that the broadband cable is not connected (I already know this, it works without the broadband cable). Is there a way to disable the light?

Other than black tape, no.

Re: BT flashing light

If everything is working the only way is to put tape over the light.

Re: BT flashing light

Why not go the whole hog, take the thing apart and remove the LED, it’s probably a surface mounted one so heat up the solder and of it pops. Couple things in my daughters room got the treatment.

Or tape, yeah…assuming the hub might get called back one day?

Re: BT flashing light

I remembered this post from a while ago.

Just tested connecting a short ethernet cable from the WAN port to eth3, this results in a solid orange light, if this is less annoying to you, you can try this.

Re: BT flashing light

You should be able to go into the HUB settings and turn the light off.  You can when using the HUB normally don't see why your set up would change that

Re: BT flashing light

You can turn the light off in settings but it will always present when there is an error.

So when folks are using their SH as an AP, there will be no successful internet connection, therefore the purple light will flash forever regardless of that setting which is p'ing some folks off.
