I have given around 6 weeks ish for the noise margin to reduce. But it looks like there has been very little change. The HH5 has been left to its own devices. Still hitting around the 38Mb and sometimes lower. Checked on the infinity website, using both postcode an landline number it is still saying a minimum of 68Mb. Which is what we was getting around for the first 2 months or so.

Any help appretiated.
You need to get an engineer to fix the line fault.
have you checked quiet line test again?
with these drops in connection you are not going to make any progress and like licquorice said you need to get engineer visit
if phone engineer then probably can't help with broadband but you can ask and see if he can help
BT booked for visit on 6th Nov , and now the line goes quiet without any crackle. Why does that happen, when you book a call out?
Just had a look on the HH5 and disconnections (PPOE Down) are appearing more regular at anywhere from 4 hrs to 40hrs. SNR down is now 12 db and up is 15 db.
Is it worth mentioning BB woes to engineer visiting? Or just let him concentrate on the line noise at hand?
Up to you if you mention it to him but he will only be a line engineer and can't even get a profile reset for you.
Then again you may be lucky and get an engineer who has some broadband knowledge.
if noise problem now fixed you need a stable conenction for DLM to start improving your connection what is your current connection time? can you post stats from the HH5
