Recently My broadband stops responding at random times.
Router (ASUS dsl-ac68u) shows vdsl link up and stable and internet connected but no internet responsiveness from anything connected to router.
if I switch wan off and then back on again on router GUI then everything returns to normal.
Driving me crazy. Anyone any ideas?
May run fine for several days before a problem. Seems like something upstream at exchange is not responding but router is still happily logged in.
means I can't rely on ip cam viewing when away from home because internet randomly fails.

Have you checked for firmware updates?
Have you tried test socket with filter?
Have you tried quiet line test? 17070 option 2.
sounds more like a router problem when problem happens is it with wired or wireless or both? are you using powerline adapters?
Nothing connected wireless or wired can see Internet but all still talking on local net.
Yes I have a nas drive and a coup,e of ip cameras connected by powerline.
not sure what relevance that has though.
there have been posts on the forum where powerline adapters ( from memory tplink) were causing problems with peoples conenction
Firmware up to date.
Openreach came out out and checked line. No problems found.
since vdsl is up and stable can't see that it is a line fault.
for some reason the wan connection freezes but router doesn't see this and thinks it's still connected.
Understood but these are BT powerline adapters :-)
they are new and post date the problems I've been having.
if you have already had openreach out and they say your line is ok then the next obvious is your Asus router maybe putting the hub back on and see if problems continues to happen which then rules out Asus
Looks like it was the router. Did a hard reset and initialise on it then reloaded settings. Hasn't gone down since.
Thanks to all for advice.
