Re: Banding 'stuck' or just impatient me?

As you are on a Huawei cab then G.INP is enabled on all lines that does not mean it is active on all lines. It will only be active on lines DLM deems beneficial. It's a much more complicated algorithm but I'm sure you get the drift.

As regards SNR I think you really need to read up on what it actually means, Signal to Noise Ratio.

Your try reduced it to 0 Db which is 1:1. Impossible outside of lab conditions and doubtful then.

As I said previous, modem SNR control worked to an extent on ADSL lines but I've yet to see the results on VDSL.

Re: Banding 'stuck' or just impatient me?

I think I get SNR at this level... desired signal level vs background signal (noise) level...

I guess we wait until the DLM becomes happy with the router and the line... or I start whining about the banding...

Once the banding is off I can try shifting the SNR from this end and see if the link speed changes.

A line profile soft reset would be nice at this point tho...

Too soon, don't blame your ISP.

Re: Banding 'stuck' or just impatient me?

I'm not blaming anybody, certainly not blaming BT for protecting their network. DLM is just doing it's job.

I'm just hunting knowledge and expediency. 😉

Re: Banding 'stuck' or just impatient me?

Is there any method for an end user to determine the ILQ status of a line?

Just wondered if you had access to BT systems...

No. This is a consumer supported forum. The only BT employees are the mods.
