Broadband Package Availability/Choice

Go to solution

Help.

Could somebody please help me clarify what BT broadband products I can get/or advise which might be best for me.

My current broadband package is BT Broadband Umlimited.

Over recent years this has given me DL speeds of around 4Mbps to 5Mbps. Over the last six months my connection has been dropping out randomly each day, for between 10 to 15 minutes. However, over the past few days the connection seems to have settled down so, I checked my DL speeds and they are now coming back at 8Mbps, 9Mbps and even +10Mbps.

The poor DL speeds and regular disconnections have had me considering moving over to fibre but, here is where I get confused. Some checkers say I can get fibre and others say no. The ones that do show I goudl get DL speeds between 4Mbps and 9Mbps. This being the case I would think staying with BT Broadband Umlimited would be the obvious choice but, I'm also advised that I can get fibre where the "Avaerage" DL speed is 50Mbps and another saying "Average" DL speed is 67Mbps.

Re: Broadband Package Availability/Choice

from looking at checker results you are a long way from your street cabinet and and from the speeds shown and you quote I would stay where you are

the 50/67mb quoted are average speeds so some higher and some lower - you are in the very low end at 7/10mb
