Broadband and streaming issues

Hello

ive been with BT for a few months now and since switching I have had nothing but issues with streaming on my tv. Netflix, iPlayer etc won’t go for more than a minute without freezing. I’m at my wits end with a solution to this as after spending another afternoon on the phone to BT who have said it’s a problem with my TV despite the speed test at my tv being less than half the download speed at my hub (BT saying it’s still enough to stream shows though), so BT saying it’s not their problem but when I was Sky previously I never had any issues with streaming they’ve only started since switching. I don’t know what to do but losing my mind being unable to watch anything without constant buffering. Not using any other device on the broadband while watching tv

Re: Broadband and streaming issues

How are you connecting to your TV - WiFi or ethernet cable?  If WiFi have you tried changing the wireless channel from auto to a fixed channel?  I would try a WiFi analyser on your phone to see what channels are in use near you then select a free or less congested channel.  If you have SKY Q then make sure BT HUB not using channel 36 as that is used by SKY Q

Re: Broadband and streaming issues

Thanks for your reply. When I called Bt today they switched me to less congested channel as a solution but it hasn’t made any difference.
I don’t have Sky just use streaming apps that come with the tv. Tv is connected by WiFi. It’s two rooms away from hub so can’t connect by cable currently

Re: Broadband and streaming issues

No ISP guarantees WiFi speed, there are too many variables.

If you can't run a cable, power line adapters are an alternative.
