The phone and broadband worked without problem until recently. but a period of power instability (we would wake to a flashing microwave and clocks needing reset) The broadband was Ok, but the phone line was silent (no dialtone)... I changed the microfilter, and the phone service was restored. The power problems continued and the phone went silent again... throughout this ADSL2 remained good. Changing the filter did nothing. If just the phone is connected to the single BT socket we get dial tone. Plug in the filter, and only plug in the phone - the phone works
Add the BB modem to the filter...the phone goes silent. BB is good.
In the middle of this BB was upgraded to fibre, So we now have a new hub6 Supplying 50Meg down,10Meg up But the phone remains silent if the Broadband is plugged in.
We have a selection for filters, cables, BB modems, and phones. Mix and match for the same results. Take the phones over to sisters and they behave properly (but she doesnt have BB)
do you get the same result if you try using the test socket with a new filter
sorry for the delay, yes the behaviour remains constant with the facepate on, or using the test socket
