is your conenction still unstable as 44mb looks like a banded profile?

The connection is stable, doesn’t drop during the day or in use just over night.

when the openreach engineer came (on 3 occasions now) and plugs his test equipment in it shows hundreds of thousands of corrected faults.

When the  DLM is reset the speed always drops to 44 mb/s over the following week.

sorry but if dropping connection daily whether during the day or at night your line is not stable and is the cause of the conenction speed dropping     looks like unstable hence drop to next banded profile speed
