Recently been experiencing broadband drop out several times a day (not just the wifi but wired as well).
I swichted to a TP link archer router a few year back as I was fed up with the HH5.
Am I right in assuming that the router should feedback to the network to give a stable feed ?
Would trying the HH6 be worth a go ?
Apologies if this doent make sense, just would like to resolve the issue.
Is there any noise on your phone calls? Dial 17070 and select option 2, there should be no noise between the announcements.
Its more likely to be problems with your line causing the dropouts.
If you look at the router log, you should be able to see the DSL events when the connection drops.
Have done a quiet line test, didn't hear any noise, will have a look a the router log tomorrow thanks.
Slight hiss on the line today.
Had a look at the router this is all I could see :
Upstream Downstream
Current Rate(kbps) | 4036 | 22399 |
Max Rate(kbps) | 4103 | 28387 |
SNR Margin(dB) | 6.2 | 6.2 |
Line Attenuation(dB) | 0 | 26.1 |
Errors(pkts) | 5 | 480 |
There are some packet errors, so you need to look more closely at your connection.
Which number matches your master phone master socket?
Single master sockets
Do you have any other phone sockets or extension wiring?
#6, direct to the router.
Master phone off this socket.
Keith, any thoughts regarding sockets or further actions I should look at ?
try using the test socket with a filter and see if that helps
test socket shown by black arrow
Thats the phone line isn't iit ?
How does that help the broadband feed ?
As @imjolly has said, you need to eliminate the possiblility of a faulty filtered faceplate by using the test socket.
Connect things up as shown here Infinity - test socket connections
That will eliminate the filtered socket as a possible cause.
