Broadband upgraded no change in speed

At the end of April my broadband was changed to fibre halo 1, I still have no change to speed which is currently 8mbps. I upgraded as I’m starting a new job which requires 20mbps and was guaranteed a minimum of 24mbps. Can anyone help

Re: Broadband upgraded no change in speed

@Booboo778

In order to find out what services and speed range you should be getting, please enter your phone number into this form.
Broadband availability checker

Please remember to edit out your phone number before you post the results.

Can you please provide the connection information from the home hub?

If you are using the BT Smart hub you can get your connection stats by, Opening a new web browser on your connected device and type 192.168.1.254 or bthomehub.home into the address bar. This will open the Hub Manager.  Click Advanced Settings’ and then ‘Technical log’

Can you also provide the results from this test.

https://speedtest.btwholesale.com/

This must be done with a computer connected to the home hub using a direct Ethernet cable.

Is there any noise on your phone calls? Dial 17070 and select option 2, there should be no noise between the announcements.

Re: Broadband upgraded no change in speed

  • Hello thank you for your help. I have run the tests except the direct speed test - I’m trying to find a cable lol what info should I be looking at on the broadband availability to tell me what speed is expected? The noise test was fine

Re: Broadband upgraded no change in speed

You have cropped the dslchecker results as there should be information about current connection just below the bottom

Re: Broadband upgraded no change in speed

How are you measuring your speed? Is it 8Mbps or 8MBps? There is a difference. 8MBps would be 64Mbps, downloads are normally shown on MBps but the service is sold in Mbps.

Megabit

MegaByte, 8 bits in a byte.
