Broadband upload speed?

Go to solution

I have fibre to the cabinet but aluminium access cables so broadband speed has never been great. However whilst the download speed is near the upper limit, the upload speed has always been less than half of the upper limit. I have asked BT before and been told all is working ok. The speed tester also states everything is working as it should but the figures do not seen correct to me. Any ideas?

Re: Broadband upload speed?

The up profile and speed are standard and same for all customers on fibre 1 just as it is set at 20mb for fibre 2

can you post stats from your hub/router. If sh2 then advanced settings then technical log information

From your stats you are a long way from the street cabinet but your connection speed up/down looks ok and round about the max attainable

Re: Broadband upload speed?

Many thanks for the reply. Not sure we are actually that far from the street cabinet but we are served by crappy aluminium cables. Will have to wait for a future solution as we are at the end of a cul-de-sac, no ducts laid by the original developers & cable just buried in the ground so no easy upgrade option.
