Re: Broadband
That's up to you, you can have broadband without phone if you wish. What did you order, you would have had a choice when you ordered.

if you don't use a home phone then no need to change what you have ordered - broadband only
you need 'a line' and that is included in your cost just you cannot make/receive calls on a house phone

Re: Broadband
Just been thinking do I need a phone line ?
This is a bit vague as there are a couple of ways interpreting it , do you need a phone service ? , you already made that decision when you ordered , you had a choice to take broadband only or broadband and phone , obviously if you took broadband only you won’t have a ‘phone line’ , but we also think of a ‘phone line’ as the physical medium that delivers the network service, either a copper pair of wires or a fibre optic cable , you obviously need this physical connection to the network to deliver any service, regardless of that being broadband or broadband and phone ,
So Yes , you need a ‘line’ , if you have one already existing in the property that may be OK to deliver what you ordered , if you are getting ‘full fibre’ and the existing line is a copper pair , then a new optical line needs to be installed.
