Re: Bt Infinity speeds dropped

Is there any noise on your phone calls? Dial 17070 and select option 2, there should be no noise between the announcements.

A speed drop like that is normally caused by a disconnection of one wire, in which case, you will also not get any dial tone on your landline phone.

Re: Bt Infinity speeds dropped

Although a corded phone is better you can do it with cordless, you may get a small hum in the background.

Re: Bt Infinity speeds dropped

If @Keith_Beddoe is correct it will not matter as there will be no dial tone. Quiet line test is best with corded but if cordless may get dull hum which is ok

Re: Bt Infinity speeds dropped

You need to try using test socket and if still no dial tone then report phone fault to 151

Re: Bt Infinity speeds dropped

It is very important that you report it as No Dial Tone, and not as a broadband fault, as phone faults get priority, and you broadband will get better once the phone line is working again.
