Bt full fibre 900

I upgraded to Bt full fibre 900 from 300 . I have to say I’m very disappointed . My upload has increased to over 100 but my download speed hasn’t increased at all . I’ve ran various speed tests including Bt wholesale and they are all around 200-300 mbps . I’ve plugged my laptop directly into router and getting the same . What’s going on ?

Re: Bt full fibre 900

check that your network card is actually running at 1Gbps.

h3x1e_0-1587651030681.png

Right click network icon in taskbar > Open Internet & Network Settings > Change Adapter Options > Right Click adatper and click status, for Windows 10.

Ethernet adapters can run at 10/100/1000 so checking it is actually running at 1000 helps eliminate it.

You can also try different speed testing sites such as Ookla's Speed test, Fast.com, Thinkbroadband. Test with different servers on Ookla if you're going to test there as some don't have the infrastructure to provide the full Gigabit speed test.

You can also try downloading a large file which will show you your actual throughput in MB/s it should be around 90-112 MB/s but againt infrastructure between you can the server you're downloading from can cause lower speeds.

This is becoming a joke now I’m getting 40mbps meant to be getting 900 . Ridiculous

Have you tried to switch off and on your ONT modem? This did it for me.

Re: Bt full fibre 900

Someone else ended up on the wrong package. In the MyBT section of the BT website, does it say you are on the Fibre 900 package?

Re: Bt full fibre 900

I am getting similar on the 900 service  , started with WiFi running 150 meg download more than 3 feet from hub, 50 meg more than 12 ft from hub, thought drop off was a lot, rang BT they blamed WiFi....so I plugged  laptop into router with Ethernet and got 200- 300 meg fluctuating  - they are sending a new router but even their test was showing 750 to the hub and today it was showing 600 to the hub so don’t know if it’s the line. Router or both!

Re: Bt full fibre 900

Plug your laptop directly into the ONT and set up a PPPoE connection and test your speed at https://fast.com/en/gb/
