Bt hub or different router? Recommendations

Hi I just upgraded my internet and have BT full fibre halo 3+.( First time having complete WiFi) Right now I am using a deco x60 that I configured years back as a router where my ont cable goes straight into the main deco. My question is we have alot of devices in my house and can the complete WiFi handle this and is it better than the deco? My internet can drop out at times and we all play games in this house so is having a different router better than the BT hub with complete WiFi and if yes what would you recommend.

Re: Bt hub or different router? Recommendations

I can't speak at all for 'modern' BT routers as the last time I used one was back in 2015 with a homehub5. I learned long ago that ISP routers are in my very useless opinon, garbage, but, they're plug and play and most households just want something that they can connect and go. My last BT router went back to BT still in the box with the sellophane on unopened four years after receiving it. I never wanted it in the first place.

What I have used now for the last 3 years, is a TP-Link GX90 which has so far served me well. I've got about 25 devices constantly connected to it and it never ever gives me a problem. Used for 3 years on BT fibre 500 on FTTP and now on PN.
