Bt smart hub 2

I have had the bt smart hub 2 for three months and am on my second one. The problem is with my mob phone. While connected to wifi it takes ages to connect while trying to call someone. And when having a conversation the other party cant hear me properly or think i have hung up. But as soon as i disconnect from wifi or pull the power plug out of the hub,all our phones work perfect. I have called bt numerous times and they say it cant be the hub.but how come when i turn it off and use 4g its fine. Anyone else had this issue and been resolved.
