Can I decline new BT Smart Hub 2 while upgrading speed to full fibre

I'm looking to upgrade to full fibre as with everyone home the package I have isn't enough.  Part of the upgrade includes a new Smart Hub 2 that's free except for £9.99 posting and packing.  I already have a Smart Hub 2 so it seems like a waste to change that.  I can't get a hold of BT to decline the Hub.  Is there anything else I can do other than pay the 9.99 and go the hassle of shipping one of the routers back?

if you are upgrading to FTTP you need a WAN port of the SH2 and if you were on FTTC then your SH2 does not have the required WAN port so need new SH2
